Meet the Herd Behind the Cheese

At Ron’s Wisconsin Cheese, our cows aren’t just part of the process — they’re part of the family. Each one plays a vital role in crafting the farm-fresh cheese you know and love. Raised right here on our family-run farm, our cows are cared for daily with kindness, respect, and a whole lot of Midwest heart.

🌾 Happy Cows, Better Cheese

We believe cheese tastes better when it starts with happy, healthy animals. That’s why our cows enjoy:

  • Comfortable, clean barns with plenty of room to roam
  • A balanced diet grown right here on our land
  • Regular veterinary care and wellness checks
  • Gentle milking practices and daily human interaction

We don’t cut corners when it comes to their care — because their well-being directly impacts the freshness, flavor, and quality of every cheese curd and cheddar block we produce.

🧀 From Cow to Curd – Total Traceability

As a farmstead cheese company, we control the process from the pasture to your plate. That means you’re getting cheese made with milk from our own cows, processed in our own facility, and delivered with our name on it. No outsourcing, no mystery milk — just total transparency.

Meet the Ladies

June – The Young Go-Getter
June is one of the newer additions to our milking herd, but she’s already made a name for herself. She’s eager, bright-eyed, and keeps everyone on their toes. Always on the move, always exploring, June’s energy is contagious. Her milk yield has surprised even our seasoned dairy team — a rising star on the farm!

Mabel – Our Gentle Giant
Mabel is one of our biggest cows, but also the most tender-hearted. She moves slowly, chews thoughtfully, and loves getting brushed down after milking. Her creamy milk is a major contributor to the smooth, mellow flavor in our Snow Cheddar. Don’t let her size fool you — she’s a total softie who loves soft classical music and napping in the straw.

Pagel's Ponderosa Cow

Rosie – The People Cow
Rosie loves attention. If there’s a camera, she’ll pose. If someone’s near the fence, she’ll be the first to nudge her nose in for scratches. Guests and kids love her outgoing personality, and she’s always eager to meet someone new. Rosie’s milk production is top-notch, and she brings just as much energy to the parlor as she does to the barn.

Willow – The Social Butterfly
Willow has a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s always in the center of the herd, starting play fights or licking her friends. She has a low, raspy moo and a spotted coat that makes her easy to spot in the field.

❤️ Raised With Respect, Made With Pride
